Applications Through an Attorney

If the applicant is unable to submit the request in person, it may be submitted through a licensed Panamanian attorney. In such cases, the following requirements must be met:

  • A written request addressed to the Director of the National Immigration Service of the Republic of Panama.
  • A notarized power of attorney. If the applicant is abroad, the power of attorney must be apostilled or legalized by a Panamanian Consulate abroad.
  • A copy of the attorney’s Panamanian national ID and law license.
  • A copy of the ID of the person authorized to collect the response.
  • A signed authorization letter in which the attorney authorizes their legal assistant to collect the response.
  • If any documents originating from abroad are written in English, they must be translated into Spanish by a certified translator in Panama.
