A Panama Tax Residency Certificate (CRF) is an official document issued by the Panama Tax Authority (DGI) confirming that an individual or company is considered a tax resident of Panama for a specific tax year.

๐Ÿ“‹ Main Requirements

For individuals, the DGI may require:

  • ๐Ÿ“ Application addressed to the DGI.
  • ๐Ÿ›‚ Certified copy of the passport.
  • ๐Ÿ  Proof of residence in Panama.
  • โœˆ๏ธ Immigration movement certificate.
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Utility bills or other evidence of ties to Panama.
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Additional documents supporting tax residence.

For companies, the DGI may request corporate registration documents, proof of activities, personnel, and evidence that management decisions are made from Panama.

โณ Application Process

Applications are submitted through e-Tax 2.0. The process may take approximately three months, so applicants should plan ahead.

The DGI reviews the documentation and determines whether the requirements for tax residence have been met.
