The requirements to apply for a friendly nations visa are as follows:

  1. Power of Attorney (notarized) and Application
  2. Three (3) photographs
  3. Copy of passport (notarized)
  4. Certificate of criminal record
  5. Certificate of good health
  6. Cashier’s check for US$250.00 in favor of the National Treasury of Panama
  7. Cashier’s check for US$800.00 in favor of the National Immigration Service of Panama
  8. Personal Background Affidavit Form
  9. Copy of identity document of the applicant
  10. Document that demonstrates the intended purpose of the residence, accoriding to one of the below purposes:

 

Employment

  • Employment contract signed by the legal representative of the company
  • Certificate of Legal Entity of the employing company, issued by the Public Registry of Panama
  • Copy of the business license or notice of operations of the employer
  • Copy of the Power of Attorney and work permit application submitted before the Panamanian Ministry of Labor

 

Real estate investment

  • Investment of at least US$200,000.00 in real estate in Panama
  • Certificate of Public Registry showing ownership in the name of the applicant. If a legal entity onws the immovable property, the applicant must be the owner of the shares of said legal entity.

 

Fixed Term Deposit:

  • A fixed term deposit of at least US$200,000.00 free of encumbrances with validity of 3 years

 

Remarks:

  • Dependants can be included in this application.
  • Any document written in a foreign language must be translated into Spanish by a Panamanian authorized public translator.
  • At first, this residence permit is granted for a period of two years. Then, the applicant can apply for permanent residence in Panama.
  • With this type of immigration permit, applicants are elegible for work permit in Panama
