Foreigners who have one or more Panamanian children at least five (5) years of age may apply for this immigration permit.
Requirements:
- Notarized Power of Attorney and Application: Must include the names and nationalities of the applicant’s parents.
- Three (3) recent photographs.
- Authenticated copy of the passport: (Notarized or duly authenticated).
- Criminal Background Certificate.
- Health Certificate.
- Cashier’s check for US$500.00: Payable to the National Treasury.
- Cashier’s check for US$800.00: Payable to the National Migration Service.
- Personal Background Affidavit Form.
- Letter of Responsibility and Repatriation: From a resident or national, duly notarized.
- Birth Certificate of Panamanian Children: Issued by the National Directorate of Civil Registry, with revenue stamps of US$3.00.
- Affidavit before a Notary: Completed by the parent of the minor, certifying that the applicant has fulfilled their duties as a responsible parent.
- Proof of Address: Lease contract, property title, utility bill copy, or any other document proving the applicant’s residence.
- Copy of Permanent Resident Card or Panamanian ID: The responsible person must provide a notarized copy of their permanent resident card or a copy of their Panamanian ID, authenticated by the Civil Registry Office of Panama.
Requirements for applying for permanent residency:
After two (2) years, the foreign national may apply for permanent residency by submitting the documents mentioned above, except for the Criminal Background Certificate and the checks.
