Requirements
Panamanian citizens:
- First aid certification
- Fluency in the Spanish language
- Certificate of proficiency in a foreign language
- Training or verifiable work experience of the applicant as a tour guide.
- National identity card
- Pass the tourism knowledge test that will be administered by the Panama Tourism Authority
- Registration Form
- Notice of operation (business license)
Foreigners:
- In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must have at least 5 years of residence in Panama
- Resident card
- Panama tax identification number
- At least two (2) income tax returns filed with the Directorate General of Revenue of Panama
- Valid work permit
No individual may present himself or promote himself as a Tourist Guide if he has not complied with the above requirements.
